Halloween is my favorite holiday!

Finally, a use for your bridesmaid dresses!

Always start with what you have. Most of us have at least one bridesmaid dress that we never wear anywhere. Drag it out of the plastic bag and see what you can make. Above is a simple sleeveless sheath. The cape can be part of another dress or buy a long piece of cloth and wrap it around your waist. Attach the cape to your arms via jewelry or ribbons. You may either make the headpiece with beads, tinsel and ribbon or buy a wig to wear. Remember the makeup! Cleopatra had some heavy eye liner.

Do you like costumes? Would you like to enter an Online Halloween Costume Contest? StarCostumes and Voodoo Music Experience (VME) are holding a costume contest with some fine prizes.

Get your creativity flowing, and design, photograph and display your most outrageous costume. This would be the contest you will wear to the 2007 VME event in New Orleans on Halloween weekend! That is the first prize!

One winner will be chosen by StarCostumes from the top 50 entries. This winner will win two three-day passes, $1000 for travel and expenses, $100 credit at Star Costumes and you will be featured on their site.

The 2007 Voodoo Music Experience bands include Rage Against the Machine, The Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, Kings of Leon, Dr. John, The Black Crowes, Toots and the Maytals and many others. This will be a weekend full of fun.

It is easy to enter. Just include in your photo description or video why StarCostumes should select you as the VME winner! Begging not allowed...LOL

After you post your costume and tell them why you should win the Grand Prize, have all your friends vote for your entry.

What a great idea... I have been trying to think of a costume for a few weeks now, but I haven't come up with anything!

What a great idea for a costume! And I love the recycling element. I don't know if I have enough time to make it for this year, but definately keep it in mind for next.

The Cleopatra outfit is stunning. A great inspiration for ladies to recycle their unused evening dresses.

Halloween isn't big in New Zealand. The marketers have been getting on to it in recent years and some kids celebrate it but it was nothing when I was a kid. I've seen lots of Halloween stuff in the department stores but it's not a big thing here.

Happy Halloween, here from BC

Wonderful costume idea and not even expensive. And how perfect is the trip to New Orleans as a prize - that city loves to costume!
