When You See "Click Here," You Will Do It!

Does Telling Someone to “Click Here” Actually Matter? | Copyblogger - click to view article

From the article:
. . . Marketing Sherpa experiment performed with their newsletter readers. The goal was to find out if the wording used in hyperlinks could make a difference in clickthrough rates.

The answer is yes. They found that the right two or three click link words can lift clickthrough rates by more than 8%.

Here are the results:

  • “Click to continue”: 8.53%
  • “Continue to article”: 3.3%
  • “Read more”: (-)1.8%

Use your anchor text to tell your readers exactly what you want them to do. So, click here to subscribe to my feed and then click here and leave me a comment. When you awaken, you will not remember a thing. LOL

Not only will using click to continue increase the traffic to your site or blog as the click through rate goes up, but also adds to your natural linking profile.
