Reruns and Reality Shows

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) voted to authorize a strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers. The WGA West and WGA East may strike any time after their current contract expires on October 31.

What is it all about? Residual income paid to writers. The guild wants a pay hike for content distributed over the Internet or on other new media, such as video-enabled cellphones.

More information, read complete article here: Big turnout gives WGA strike authorization

This is bad news for fans of late-night talk shows, daytime soaps and, eventually, all TV shows.
The last strike was in 1988 and lasted five months. So, with the new season just started, we may already look forward to reruns or more reality shows.
