Facebook has an enormous database of people's demographics, relationships, likes and dislikes -- all offered up voluntarily -- which can be used for targeted advertising on and off the site.
The invitation to ad agencies in NYC was carved into a lucite brick:
You are invited to a discussion with Mark Zuckerberg and the Facebook executive team as we unveil a new way of advertising online.



Facebook cannot wait to give up your profile, your social network, your preferences and your on-site behaviors to the highest bidder. We knew it was coming, but do they have to be so blatant about it? Just to be safe, I have stopped most feeds, uninstalled all applications and made changes to my profile. This is not fun any more.

You know,Yahoo has joined the Social Networking bash,by opening 2 such sites-Mash and Kickstart.Lol,I believe Y! has started taking Google serioulsy. ;)
