Entrecard Ad Stolen

Update: According to Entrecard, the stolen ad has been taken down on the profile page. I received this message at the forums. Graham said it was done at 11 pm on June 30. If anyone sees the card below with the horse on it, anywhere, please let me know. I want to get my ads back upon Texas RV Travel blog, but want to be sure.

I belong to Entrecard and I have 5 blogs with the system. I change the ads periodically for freshness and to try new ideas.

One of my blogs, Texas RV Travel blog, used to display this ad on Entrecard:

Then I changed the ad to this:

Well someone (www.easyracing.blogspot.com) is using the cowboy and horse advertisement, with my blog name still on it, as their EC advertisement. Many people have noticed it and were kind enough to send a message to me.

I have sent a message to the blogger, to Entrecard support and it is posted on the Entrecard forums. In the meantime, I canceled all my ads and ads scheduled to run on my blog until this is straightened out. Usually bloggers that display their ad with me get a fair amount of clicks. With this imposter in the system, it is hard to know where the clicks are going.

If you are going to steal someone's advertisement,
do not use it in the same program from which you stole it.

This has cost me time, stress, advertiser goodwill, and blog standing. My blog was renting for 256 credits and I had about 7 blogs in the que, now my blog rents for 1 credit. I do not know if I can come back from this.

If anyone knows this blogger, will you ask him to remove it? Please do not accept any ads for this card as it is not mine.

That sucks. Some people have no class. I wonder how many other people this person has stolen from. The blog it represents is probably another crappy blog too.

Oh, that is just mean-spirited! You will come back and stronger! You have my support! Hang in there....

It is crime to use others blog name. Thanks for advice on not clicking to a stolen blog.

This is rotten. So far one of the most rotten tricks in the book I've seen yet. Like you said if you are going to steal someones ad design at least use it elsewhere. They could have had the decency of at least removing your site name or flipping the image or changing the colors a bit. Once you get this straightened out and are accepting ads again you can count on ads from both my sites!

That's awful. I'm sure you will be able to recover quicker than you think at Entrecard. I remember my very first website. I was excited and started a webring. Imagine my surprise when a person in my ring had totally stolen my self designed website and inserted her own text into it. I totally understand your frustration.

That is such a shame. How could someone be so stupid as to advertise with another blog name on the widget. I'm so sorry to hear about this. I hope EC does something about it.

Glad you mentioned this. I got a request for what i thought was your blog the other day ad i approved it without checking. It didn't occur to me that I SHOULD. I'll go cancel it as soon as I finish dropping.
Hope it all works out well.

That's crazy that someone stole the ad pic and then had the nerve to use it with the name of your site still on it. Sounds like they were trying to piggyback by trying to use your reputation to confuse people into looking at their site. People are so rude!

Just fight through it man, you can't let someone tried to take the easy way defeat you from finishing the hard way.

It's all your work, I'm sure entrecard will do it's best to help you out.

I am available for a beat down if you ever get his address. haha.

Blogs are really a mixed blessing. On the one hand there are people who take years to create a site full of content, then on the other are the people who take a day to produce a blog with years full of stolen content.

Pretty much how the whole world works though... sadly.

That is bad and a damned cheek. Now I know why you rejected my AD on your site. I hope you can sort it out and when you do I will re-advertise.

I just want to say thank you to everyone.

I am going to wait until the card is taken down before I start displaying ads on Texas RV Travel blog again. Entrecard has yet to take a role.

It makes me sad that I have to start again with one credit for my blog and work up again.

I appreciate the support found in these comments. We never know who reads our blogs, who cares and what people think. Thank you all.

Ouch! I really don't get why should there someone to abuse the useful of such entrecard which is designed to help bloggers grow. I think EC admin should ban this thief blog. I'm on your side. Thanx for alerting us.

I can't believe that ppl would actually do stuff like this. There are always ups and downs. Just take it in your stride. I know that it is easier said than done, but I think it is the best option. You have all our support.

@Okay, everything back to normal. The guy actually sent me a message saying he had changed it. No apology but then he probably had no idea what he had done.

Thank you all for your kind words.
