I lost all my data when my laptop crashed last month. No excuse, I knew I should be backing up my data. I just did not do it and I had to pay someone to rescue my data from my hard drive. A simple solution would have been to subscribe to an Online Backup service.

Ok, this is going to sound really stupid, but please remember that I am totally not technically savvy, but I had no idea I should be backing up my data at all. Thanks for the info!
@stephanie-whether you do it yourself on a CD, DVD or flash drive, do it. I felt so disconnected when I lost my data.
I completely agree with you and I lost data once when my computer was reformatted. After, it was always like "DARN, I should've..." But it was too late.
Now I know to save/back up data...because I know what it's like to lose data!
Ibackup, Idrive, Pro Softnet corp or whatever they are calling themselves these days are *very* black hat. They’re notorious for email harversting, email spam, comment spam and pay-per-post so steer clear.
