On the Way to the Semantic Web

One of those Web 3.0 concepts that no one truly understands yet is the semantic web. The basic idea is to combine the use of data across multiple sites to make the Web more like a giant computer, or human brain.

To do this, some companies are tracking specific behaviors across the web on different sites. Other companies are "teaching" computers concepts such as book, movie, food, drink, etc. Still other businesses are annotating websites so that they exhibit information that is accessible through API. Yet other businesses are exploring relationships between people and websites.
